In the Kinneigh Children's Church Cabin.Childrens Church in Kinneigh Union is designed to be fun and a relevant    experience for the young members of the Union. We believe that our children are very much full members of the church today.

We provide a curriculum based on a program written by Susan Sayers entitled "Living Stones" and based on the Lectionary. According to Susan Sayers, "it is based on the belief that children are as much a part of the church as adults, and that there is great value in sharing the same teaching each Sunday, whatever our age."

The children are with the adults for a time during the first part of the service then we and our leaders go to explore and discuss the day's theme through games, story-telling, music, art and prayer. If it is a Eucharist we come back to share with the adults in a blessing at the communion rails. If Morning Prayer we continue until going home time, in which case the Rector will sometimes join us before she goes onto another service.

Our curriculum is divided into two/three sections: PEBBLES for 4-7 year old children who are just now "brought in to join the big children for Sunday School. It is through the good humour, care and friendliness of those they meet that they will begin to realize how God loves them." ROCKS for 8 to 10 year old children, for whom "the sense of belonging to a peer group becomes increasingly important. Their growing awareness of the wider world is often linked with a strong sense of justice and social responsibility, and they need to see the Christian perspective in all this."

BOULDERS I for middle school-age young adults "when deep questions are being asked, and it is essential that our young people find in their churches those who are going to listen and not be shocked; those who are willing to enter into real world discussion and provide relevant and unsuffocating support during adolescence."
