The Good Friday Workshop this year follows the theme of Light and Darkness. There will be a three-hour programme of art and craft activities, a trail; and the story telling of the events of Good Friday leading to Easter. There will be worship and a picnic (bring one along.) The workshop is free but donations to go towards paper and paints etc., are welcomed. The workshop is open to all ages but a responsible adult must accompany children under 12. We are praying for sunny weather, the sort of which we enjoyed last year!
The Easter General Vestry meeting is at St Mary’s Desertserges after the 10.30 am Communion Service on 18th April. Remember this meeting is open to all those whose names appear on the Register of Vestry Members for the parish where you are entitled to attend and vote at this meeting. This is when the Rector gives her annual report and reflection on the state of health of the parish!
The Women’s World Day of Prayer service was at Kinneigh was a great success, with the Ecumenical choir and Irene Bagnall as preacher, who stood in at short notice.
The baptism of Adam Matthew Asari-Moloney the grandson of the Rev. David Llewellyn was a very happy occasion at Kinneigh Church on 7th March. The Rector and grandfather (who also preached) shared the actual baptism and Adam was the model candidate calmly taking everything in.
Congratulations to Desertserges School on their wonderful Daffodil Day Coffee Morning. At the time of writing I don’t know how much was finally raised.
Congratulations to all the members of the Girls Brigade who sat the quite difficult Scripture exam. All passed with flying colours, with a group average of 87%.

Moses led the Hebrew slaves to the Red Sea where they made unleavened bread,
which is bread made without any ingredients. Moses went up to Mount Cyanide to
get the ten commandos. He died before he ever reached Canada but the commandos
made it.
2 Ancient Egypt was old. It was
inhabited by gypsies and mummies who all wrote in hydraulics. They lived in the
Sarah Dessert. The climate of the Sarah is such that all the inhabitants have to
live elsewhere.
3 Solomon had three hundred wives and seven hundred porcupines. He was an actual hysterical figure as well as being in the Bible. It sounds like he was sort of busy too.
4 Socrates was a famous old Greek teacher who went around giving people advice. They killed him. He later died from an overdose of wedlock, which is apparently poisonous. After his death, his career suffered a Dramatic decline.

In the first Olympic games, Greeks ran races, jumped, hurled biscuits, and threw
the java. The games were messier than they show on TV now.
6 Sir
Walter Raleigh is a historical figure, because he invented cigarettes and
started smoking.
7 The Greeks were a highly sculptured people, and without them we wouldn't have history. The Greeks also had myths. A myth is a young female moth.
8 Joan of Arc was burnt to a steak and was canonized by Bernard Shaw for reasons I really don't understand. The English and French still have problems.
