A happy day for Katie Victoria Appelbe following the example of her siblings Jack and Sarah and father Henry – all in turn have been baptised on a last Sunday in January at Farranthomas and all at the 11.30am or morning Eucharist. On this occasion a sit down lunch was enjoyed at Farranthomas Hall.
At the time of writing we look forward to the baptism of Fionn Cathal Creedon at Desertserges.
Congratulations to Susan and Ian Eady on the birth of Jack Christopher.
Please pray for our Confirmation Candidates as they learn together and for their families. We look forward to Mark Dunwoody coming to the parish to do a session and to the morning away in Douglas to learn about the Beads or Pearls of Life and to meet the Bishop.
Lent The Ecumenical Ash Wednesday Service was at Ballineen Methodist Church, the Rector preaching. Ecumenical Lent House Groups are meeting at the Rectory on Thursday mornings at 10.30am. with Fair-trade tea and coffee as refreshments. As each session is self contained it is OK to come along for as many as you feel able and not to feel a failure if other commitments cut in. We are looking at how we can transform our community through loving God and loving our neighbour.
Women’s World Day of Prayer at 8.30pm St Bartholomew’s, Kinneigh; Speaker – Irene Bagnall.
